Field Trip I.........

What would be of Spain without tapas, sangria, toros, flamenco, Picasso, Gaudi? What would Spain be without la Alhambra, without the world reknown morish architecture? As a result, the Andalucia region wouldn't be the same; the south of Spain would be something completely different... algo mas de lo mismo (immense gothic catedrals, small medieval towns...). For ten days we had the oportunity of visiting one of the most beautiful regions of this country, la region Andaluza. The remainders of the islamic culture that were once radicated here create an exotic ambience full of intrigue througout... ME ENCANTA!
He quedado totalmente enamorada de esta region. Not only was I captivated by the rythm, el son, of a Flamenco a lo puro Sevillano but I was also taken back centuries through time; Toledo and Don Quijote, Cordoba and the Mezquita, Granada and its Palacios, Sevilla and the Alcazar's gardens are simply a couple of examples. Mamita tenias razon!!!
Besides this region, we visited Madrid, Spain's capital; a city which unfortunately we weren't able to see that much of because of reasons beyond our control (our Profe cought the stomach flu) :)
After traveling miles obtained though the air, journeys by train through the snow, and bus rides with strangers, we are back in amazing Barcelona (the city who's adopted us and that for now feels like home). No mas caminar con valijas sobre predregales, dormir en hoteles, cargar con ropa sucia.... CAN'T WAIT UNTILL THE NEXT ONE!

Putting an end to this note, me retiro dejando PART of my pictures from our fabulous southern Spain voyage speak for themselves. ENJOY!!!

CITY ORDER: Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla.
